SmoothCapture for iPhone and iPad has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Your footage is edited and exported entirely on your device.
Effective 27 July 2026
Looking for the macOS policy?SmoothCapture for iOS has no accounts and no sign-in. Your videos, photos and projects are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we cannot see what you make.
This policy applies to the SmoothCapture app for iPhone and iPad, distributed on the App Store, and to its Share Extension. The macOS version of SmoothCapture is a separate product with a separate privacy policy, because it uses a different purchase system and collects different information.
Everything you create. Imported videos and photos, projects, timelines, backgrounds, device frames, exported files and saved settings are stored in the app’s own storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party. Rendering and export run locally using your device’s graphics hardware, so your footage never leaves the device as part of editing or exporting.
If you delete a project in the app, its media is deleted with it. Deleting the app removes all remaining projects and settings.
To be specific, the iOS app does not collect any of the following:
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security.
SmoothCapture Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple processes the transaction and shares only the outcome. We use RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider, to validate the purchase and tell the app whether Pro is active.
We do not send RevenueCat your name, your email address, or anything about the videos you make. The app also stores a single flag on your device recording whether Pro is active, so it keeps working offline.
If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message, and we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the issue. We do not add you to a mailing list without your asking.
SmoothCapture is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app has no accounts and collects no personal data, there is in practice nothing for a child to submit to us.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. In our case the practical answer is usually short: we hold no personal data about you beyond any support email you have sent us. To ask about that, or to have it deleted, write to us and we will action it.
If we change how the iOS app handles data, we will update this page and move the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces them.
